Wow, we’ve been busy. So busy that there haven’t been any recaps up since the first one. Let this remedy that.
The big thing that happened was our party on the 15th. It was a lot of work setting up and a lot of work once we were there, but it was all worth it. Thanks to Roku, Livefyre, Hurricane Party and Ben & Jerry’s we were able to get an awesome spot at Club DeVille and a bunch of great bands to play.
Ali Holder, a last minute addition, kicked things off mellowly to get the day started. One man roots rock band Eagle Eye Williamson followed and got things a little more rockin’. From San Antonio, Hacienda (who have served as the backing band for Dan Auerbach) followed the rock trend with some bluesy jams of their own.
One of the most buzzed about bands was Malajube from Montreal. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to see or hear them, but everybody else seemed to love them. The party really got going though when Rich Aucoin took the stage. Ice Cream Man obviously loved it since he was out there dancing away. It really did seem to get the energy up in the place.
Rock and Roll returned when J. Roddy Walston and the Business took the stage and continued through Screaming Females, Futurebirds and White Mystery (of which we also had some Airheads Popsicles on board). By this time I was set in the truck streaming some weird Shaolin documentary on Netflix through our Roku player and playing the unique game of dartsketball that involved tossing a suction cup dart ball through a cinderblock to win a free Roku player.
We’ll have a bigger, more detailed account of the rest of our time soon. Until then, enjoy the great photos here.
