We got a big weekend ahead of us. Or behind us depending on when you’re reading this. We’re going to have a huge review of ArthurFest up sometime on Wednesday. We’ll have somewhere around 1000 pics of all your favorite bands like Sonic Youth, Sleater Kinney, Spoon, Yoko Ono, T Model Ford, Dead Meadow, Black Keys, Cat Power, and oogles more. You can email me here if you want me to let you know when we go live. We also sent Tessa up to Seattle to shoot some pics at Bumbershoot. We’ll probably mix those up with some pics from Peter (can’t wait to see Iggy pics) and maybe some from Cobra. Those should be up by Friday if all goes well.
Today, Saturday, I drove up to Echo Park Lake to give away some cream to everyone who was participating in the LA Scavenger Hunt. Which by the way is for an awesome cause, to raise money for the Union Rescue Misson in Los Angeles. If anyone’s got a pocketful of shots from the day’s journey traveling around LA collecting old photo albums, polaroids, and items for the mission, send ’em over. We’ll build you your own little section.
Next up was Barnsdall Park for ArthurFest setup. I always try to get to festivals a day early to give out ice cream to all the people who are setting up the stages and putting everything together. Ran into some super cool folks and hung around for a few hours wandering around, finding the perfect spot for my truck this weekend, and talking it up a bit with Leyla who will be selling ice cream from her Heart’s Challenger ice cream truck while we give ours away backstage. Think I talked her into making me an Ice Cream Man suit/costume. Let me know if you have any ideas to make it super cool. Right now I’m thinking all white, big collars and cuffs, tight pants, cool belt, black buckle boots, and a custom bedazzled Ice Cream Man hat. Whatta ya think?
