After an onslaught of screams and giggles, Holy F^ck, its over. A whirlwind of days now passed, featuring everything from Hot Coffee Lockers to a special appearance by the Holy F*ck Angels. Fresh in from the Vegoose festival in Las Vegas Nevada, Brian, Graham, Kevin and Joel made nice in southern California, and shared a fantastic few days with Ryan, Rob and I. First off on the agenda was a trip to the Echo to see Subtitle and Islands (ed. review and pics coming soon) …lucky me, Busdriver tagged along and we got to see some raw tracks from the lot of them. I love me some Busdriver…man wouldnt I be lucky if these crafty Canadians joined forces with Busdriver to add some intricate chaos to his lyrical larceny. Anyhow, we met up with Brians brother Adam who came down from The Cityand convinced him to join in on some of the festivities to come. (Little did I know wed find him standing on his head. Haha) After filling time filling our bellies, a trip to the beach, some toy & record shopping, and a little R and R, we headed back up to LA for a Music For Robots party at
Cinespaceand for all of you (and I mean ALL of you) who missed out on seeing Holy F^ck in such a small venue boy are you bummed, they really are spectacular. I think Im now in love with each and everyone of them. They are sincerely riotous on stagedancing, tinkering with their noisy toys, and beaming from ear to ear. The beats hit hard, and their exhilaration is infectious.
With little to no energy saved for our big Tuesdaywe climbed ourselves into my apartment, notably one very big slumber party, around 4 am and tried to sleep. After about 4 hours of sleep, we were up and atem and meeting Blanca for a Disneyland/California Adventure escapade. We hit the newly revamped Space Mountain by 9:45 amand from that point on my face hurt from the perpetuity of the jokes and laughter. I believe we covered all the necessary basesand by that I only partially mean rides. My highlight was being the driest participant of the group, after several times down the Grizzly River Run. After a long day at the parksand a journey home in the Crown Vicwe had just enough energy for a Mr. Show marathonHey Joel, you slept thru the pie.
All in all things were fruitful. The only things left missing are a few hours of sleep, a keyboard, one functional back, and two pairs of sunnies.OH, wait.we got the sunnies back. …
Success? Id have to say so. It was delightful to have my new favoritest-boys-in-the-whole-wide-world around for a few. It was easy, as they did all the entertaining. I hope sometime in the near future, it all happens again…
Here are some pics from our debauchery of days together
