A few teenage girls sit with ice-packs on their ankles and watch as various kids limp into the mosh-pit, entering for a second helping of pain. Tonight at the Majestic Theater, Jeff Penalty leads Dead Kennedys and a new generation of young punks in Ventura, California. Dead Kennedys are known for their loud and fast paced shows, the original lead singer Jello Biafra’s constant crowd surfing, and for their political impact on the punk community.

With Spin Magazine adding the 25th Anniversary reissue of “Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables” to its Top 10 reissues of 2005, it is no wonder that DK remains to play the original tracks such as “Nazi Punks Fuck Off” and “California Uber Alles.” The lyrics stress on their opinions regarding violence, pollution, and racism even in-between songs drummer D.H. Peligro spoke his mind upon racism.
