Digital Gravel held their second Sample Sale today at their new warehouse in the City of Commerce. A week or so ago John from DG hit me up about slingin some free cream. I told him as long as he set aside any Sam Flores shirts for me then I was sure we could work something out.
I was runnin a bit late because right before I left, an email came through telling me I was registered for South by Southwest. Big thanks to OC Weekly for helping out with that one. So, back to to cream slingin. By the time I rolled up, just past one, the word was going around that the early herd had cleaned the place out. There were rumors that people had arrived at two in the morning with blankets just to get in first. And people say I’m crazy. Maybe there’s just not that many place to score $200 jeans for thirty bucks. or dope T’s for ten. They even had some cool wallets, hats, and record bags.
The flow of people coming out with plastic bags full of clothes was steady. There was a really cool mix of folks and, as you can tell by the pics, they were down for ice cream. Last week when I picked up my latest order, I cleaned out Mel-o-Dee of Pink Panthers. So they subbed in some Batmans which might not have tasted as good, but it’s always fun to turn peoples tongues and lips blue. That’s what i was trying to show with the bottom picture of me driving but, instead, I just look bonkers.
The sale is going on throughout the weekend and they stashed some goods to make sure everything would be fresh each day. Here’s the link to the map. See, Ice Cream Man likes you too.
