When I first walked into the Echo things seemed a little dead. There were only 10-15 people standing up in front of the stage and about another 20 around at the bar or sitting down. I was a bit shocked to see the place so empty. When I got home and looked at the shots I took it became clear to me now that I must invest in an external flash. The built in one just isn’t cutting it.
Ive never heard the Drones‘ music before I went to the show, so I didnt know what to expect. Even though they played for a small crowd they didnt hold anything back. It was a bit hard for me to understand exactly what they were saying in between songs due to their heavy Australian accents. Their music reminded me a bit of the Von Bondies. Heavy guitars with a sort of blues feel to it. A friend of mine who went with me to the show wasnt impressed; however I thought that the Drones played a very good show, even if it was only for a handful of people.
