First thing you need to know about Little Radio warehouse is that things are usually very laid back. Where else in Los Angeles would you have the opportunity to see Brian Jonestown Massacre (or any other band for that matter) play a nearly four-hour set? Where else could you tune in to hear said set from anywhere in the world but from LittleRadio.com? Well, that’s just where it went down with a two-night stand with two sets and two broadcasts from the Brian Jonestown Massacre and Little Radio.

What an amazing night of music Saturday turned into. Bright Channel from Denver, Colorado, opened the show both nights to a packed house. Having had the chance to see them at SXSW this past year I was very pleased that they would be on the bill for both nights. They rocked it and the crowd was very responsive to their music. I can’t imagine that all the folks in the room knew their stuff, but they were sounding great. Look for a new release from them soon.

On to BJM: If Friday night was the “Dig!” crowd, then Saturday was definitely the house crowd. The room just seemed to gel with more interest in the music than the hype. BJM did not disappoint. The sound was amazing and the fans were ever eager to bathe in the sonic beauty being washed over them. Everything was dialed in just right. Set list can be found online, and you might even an Mp3 or two. You might even find the entire four hours worth right down to the last note from Anton on the keys to a mostly cleared room. (I’d say 50 to 75 people stayed until the end at 4:17 AM) You may have even tuned in, but talk after was that something special had just happened and it certainly felt that way.

Peace.
