When I woke up Monday morning to fly to Boston I was surprised with stuffed up sinuses and an achy body. After taking a red eye flight from Portland, OR to Boston, MA with a stop in Chicago, I was feeling a little sick. But the excitement of being in a city that I have never been too overwhelmed any sickness that my body felt.
Once I secured Bessita, from the hotel she was staying at, I continued to pick up Meghann at the downtown bus terminal. This was the first time I hit the streets in Bessita in Boston. Driving is crazy there. I have driven in L.A., Chicago, San Francisco, even Cork, Ireland, but nothing compares to the zany driving in Boston. Within 5 minutes of leaving the safety of the hotel parking lot I was almost hit by a big SUV.
In the end I was able to easily drive right to the bus terminal and picked up Meghann. We made our way to our hotel and proceeded to settle in. We decided to go find some grub and then get the ice cream and dry ice we needed for the following day.
On our way to get dry ice and ice cream a friendly local police officer told us that we had run a red light. This was of course false, but I could seem to make him understand my point of view. Finally we get to the dry ice store and then pick up some cream. We got really really lost trying to find the ice cream wholesaler.
After all of this I had been awake for approximately 36 hours. I decided to call it a night around 7:30 pm. I was not hardcore that night.
The next morning we headed to WERS to sling some cream to the staff and DJs. WERS is an all student run college radio station. They have live DJs 24/7/365. They do not use automation to play music at all ever! This is a huge deal for a college radio station. They have some very popular Reggae and Hip Hop shows.
After WERS we headed to the Urban Outfitters in Harvard Square to sling cream at the White Williams show. There was a little bit of rain. But as being from Oregon I was not fazed by the light sprinkle for 45 minutes. The rain did make it difficult to shoot video and not ruin the camera.
Once the rain stopped we were back in business and had a steady stream of people getting the free cream. There was a line all the way down the street to get in and see White Williams. Once the music started there was little to no action at Bessita. We were almost out of ice cream at that point so when the music concluded we ran out very fast.
