Noise Pop 2009 is quickly approaching. Therein the streets of San Francisco will be overtaken, SXSW style, on February 24 March 1, 2009.
The confirmed music acts thus far include Mercury Prize winners Antony and The Johnsons, No Age, New Pornographers frontman A.C. Newman (pictured to the right), Dear and The Headlights, Pinback side project Goblin Cock and many more to be confirmed.
One of the perks to Noise Pop is that the event does not solely host music performances. The festival will also feature the music documentaries “Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison” and “Agile Mobile Hostile: A Year with Andre Williams”. These films will document a pivotal moment for country icon Johnny Cash and capture the struggles with addiction and creative vision for the hit songwriter Andre Williams. Each filmmaker will offer a Q&A after their screenings.
