Geek out on this photographers: with the help of a Gigapan Imager, David Bergman captured a 1,474-megapixel panoramic photograph of President Obama’s inaugural address, along with the near two million audience members that watched the making of history on January 20th. Zoom in to find yourself or friends on David Bergman’s blog, where he is also selling prints of the image.
The photograph is comprised of 220 Canon G10 images taken by the robotic camera, stitching them together into one large file. The process of loading and stitching the images on David’s MacBook took over six and a half hours.
Needless to say, this picture may be worth much more than a thousand words.
