If there is one band that doesnt know when to take a break its hard rockers Thrice. These local Orange County guys have released two albums in the last year alone and now with the CD/DVD release of their Live at the House of Blues album, I think they can finally stop for a while.

This live album showcases most of their new music from the latest releases of: The Alchemy Indexs I, II, III and IV. These albums are a concept piece of the four elements: earth, wind, fire and water. Drastically different from the groups first studio album, Identity Crisis, these albums represent how the four band members have matured from garage-jammers to music industry icons.

Thrice still performs songs from their critically acclaimed 2003 album, Artist in the Ambulance, including Cold Cash and Colder Hearts and Stare into the Sun, which makes any hardcore Thrice fan happy. Another large number of songs are from the 2005 album Vheissu, including the hit Red Sky and The Earth Will Shake.

Personally, I find the band performs best on their new songs, especially Firebreather and Broken Lungs. The group is obviously excited to be playing these new songs, ones they haven’t played a million times, offering a fresh enthusiasm that comes across in the performance.

The DVD includes the entire performance and an interview piece. This is a must have for any Thrice fan or for anyone who appreciates live performance. They dont disappoint.
