Can you imagine that, in the peaking of Rogue Wave‘s recent success, their drummer all the while has been suffering from a failing kidney? Rogue Wave’s upcoming documentary, D Tour, will chronicle Pat Spurgeon’s choice to keep touring with the band, the search for a living organ donor, and the challenges associated with finding a viable match.
While D tour will address such issues as the health care system, the lack of affordable insurance, and the importance of organ donation, it will also provide insight into how carrying on toward the band’s goals (with such an affliction) put Rogue Wave’s career to the test. In performing dialysis daily and focusing on the drummer’s health while on the road, the film displays the capacity of friendship and human compassion amidst ruminations on life, death, organ donation and the making of dreams.
Support from their musical colleagues are featured by live performances from Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie, Nada Surf, Ryan Miller, John Vanderslice, The Moore Brothers, and of course Rogue Wave.

The film will premiere this year at an undisclosed film festival, so keep your eyes out for D Tour.
