I never had a Nintendo Entertainment System a kid, but that didn’t stop me from knowing that Mega Man II was the ultimate achievement in NES gaming. Years later I would discover that it also provided the ultimate NES soundtrack, each song an intensely rocking predictor of the future we live in, a future in which unemployment is at 9% and our only hope for salvation lies in interchangeable arm cannons.
That technology is not yet available, but two dudes from Flint, Michigan have provided the next best thing by bridging the gap between Mega Man II, geek hip-hop and gratuitous misogyny. Their rhymes may not be up to par, but hang in there for the Bubble Man – Air Man – Crash Man – Quick Man sequence, where an unstoppable groove helps these 8-Bit B Boys earn their You Tube celebrity.
