After hearing that Joanna Newsom played a surprise show up in Big Sur withe Mariee Sioux, I’ve been on a Newsom kick. Especially since she supposedly played a bunch of new material, suggesting that a new album and tour must be close at hand.
In the meantime, I’ll entertain myself with the old songs, and “Yarn and Glue” is one of the oldest. Off of her self released debut EP, Yarn and Glue, this song is the only one to not find it’s way to The Milk-Eyed Mender. It’s also interesting in that it lacks the intricate harp playing of most of her songs. Just a steady, plucking beat.
