The Faint‘s album, “Fasciinatiion”, has been on repeat for over half a year, with our song of the day in the heaviest of rotations. “Mirror Error” embodies the emotional landscape of Friday, offering wry wit to compliment the reeling synth and playful tempo breaks. The buzzing feedback of the opening acts as a bullhorn, announcing the end of your zombie-like week.
The Faint are playing this Sunday with Ladytron at The Henry Fonda and it will be a dance party like no other. I headed out to a show for The Faint a few years ago at The Glass House in Pomona and it was, by far, one of the most absurdly visceral concerts I have ever attended. While the lead singer instigated the frenzied, dance-on-top-of-each-other intensity from his crowd, a fight broke out next to me that unfortunately wrangled in a person with a skull halo and a back brace. Why was that individual at the front of a notoriously aggressive dance show? I’m not certain, but it doesn’t change the fact that it was one of the most preposterous sights I have ever seen.
If you have a the means to see The Faint on tour, I can assure you that you may have the time of your life.
