One of the truest representations of a successful front woman, Karen O is a chemical reactor with the avant-punk explosiveness of Nick Zinner and Brian Chase. Emitting sauciness and nonchalance in the same stroke, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs ferocious sense of style has distinguished them as a band; unbridled intensity paired with whispered sensitivity.

Though Yeah Yeah Yeahs have leaned toward prog-rock with their new album, Its Blitz!, their bite still draws blood. The LP will drop days before Coachella, revealing the new material to be celebrated at the festival.

Off the new album, the song of the day is a testament to the bands acerbic soul. While Shame & Fortune may begin timidly, the song is a frank and hypnotic track. The guitar shreds against the zombie-like percussion, emphasizing the rebellious disdain for the Man so resentfully discussed.

I have seen the range grace the Yeah Yeah Yeahs bring to Coachella and it is electrifying.
