When making mix CDs it’s always good to have some Olivia Tremor Control and Love around. That might seem a bit strange but when you need to rock a transition, both bands are weird enough to bridge just about any gap. Love is Arthur Lee’s experimental rock back from the late 60s. Most of you prolly know the Bacharach and David penned “My Little Red Book” which was featured in a Wes Anderson movie a while back. (getting on a good soundtrack always helps you fit back in with popular culture). As much as I like “My Little Red Book” it’s best to listen to Love on an album basis and Forever Changes is definitely their masterpiece. It’s starts off with “Alone Again Or” which has a line that’s far too frequently bouncing around my head, “I could be in love with almost everyone, I think that people are the greatest fun.” I think it’s a good outlook to have on life. Check out Forever Changes or, if you’re feeling less adventurous, you can grab Love’s greatest hits and get a bunch of tracks off Forever Changes as well as “My Little Red Book.”
