You want to promote your kid’s creativity and also make sure to teach them about good music? Your chance is here. The Indie Rock Coloring Book is in stores now.

Published by Chronicle Books and illustrated by the delightful Andy J. Miller. IRCB is pages of fun activities for kids (of all ages?) inspired by many of today’s biggest indie rock bands. Color the birds in Devendra Banhart’s beard, follow the narrow chute to the Shins’ Young Pilgrim or replicate the cover of the New Pornographers’ Twin Cinema (although, you also might have to explain to your kid what a pornographer is).

The Indie Rock Coloring Book is created by Yellow Bird Project, a philanthropic organization based in Montreal. All proceeds from the sale of the book go to charities chosen by the bands featured in its pages. YBP also featured band t-shirts designed by members of the band whose proceeds also go to the charity of the band’s choice. A really cool organization that just keeps adding more cool stuff.

Maybe one day we can do an Ice Cream Man coloring book with them. Oh, the wonders!

Check your local bookstore for IRBC or get it from YBP’s websiteAmazon and other retailers.
