The third performance in one year and the “Kings Keep Marchin” tour opener by Raphael Saadiq in Seattle. Amazing that he still has the energy to make the whole crowd giddy and wild. He gives his mind and body to everyone in the whole venue. His band and backup singers wore black, very formal and professional suits while Saadiq ran out onstage in a cherry red suit with the modern day Buddy Holly attire. The backup singers with Saadiq constantly broke into choreographed dance moves that flowed with such natural fun and ease.

Truly hard to believe that this man is 43 years old. He has more energy and presence on the stage than most early twenty year olds. He has youth in his step, in his voice, and in his general being. The style is fresh yet still traditional. He is proud of the town he hails from (Oakland) and isn’t performing for the money. The bottom line: Raphael Saadiq has pride and confidence that can WOW any music fan of the past six decades.
