The Flaming Lips at the Austin Music Hall

Wayne Coyne, Austin loves you. We hope that it was obvious–the way that the Austin Music Hall vibrated with energy while in wait for The Flaming Lips to take the stage. If I were going to wish someone the ultimate Flaming Lips experience, it would be with Wayne’s bubble passing just above so that for just one moment, they could see what Wayne sees when he is riding the enthusiasm of the audience. After the last Flaming Lips show that I saw, I saw confetti in my dreams. Tonight’s dreams should be no different. Every song bathes you in the presence of sound, color and light; the confetti landing on you is an offering. Shake off your worries, let the confetti fall on you, accept mirth as a gift, have fun with friends, let the show lift you. It always feels good.

On the way home, we saw a bright falling star turn from a bright white to blue as it fell. It looked like a last piece of confetti falling onto a dark stage. Goodnight, Flaming Lips, thank you for another dream-inspiring performance. Come back to Austin often. We aren’t that far and we’d love to have you.
