Our friends over at the incredible 826LA have put together one of the best fundraisers ever.
First of all, if you aren’t familiar with 826LA it’s a non-profit dedicated to inspiring and helping kids to write creatively and to help teachers inspire children to write. Their workshop doubles as the Echo Park Time Travel Mart for all your time travel needs. There’s 826‘s all over the country dedicated to other awesome stuff with associated shops just as quirky.
Now, Chickens In Love is a one-of-a-kind fundraiser. The folks over at 826LA had the kids work with The Submarines‘ John Dragonetti and Blake Hazard to write songs for a fundraiser album. The songs were then subsequently covered by artists such as Fiona Apple, She & Him, Cold War Kids and more. You can listen to the songs streaming on the Facebook page and then go to their website and vote for your favorite and pledge money to the cause. The winning song will be awarded the 826LA golden record.
The pledging ends April 30th, so hurry up and check it out!
