From a Fountain, the musical alter ego of Douglas Kirby, is releasing Shale and Sandstone on August 31. This is notable not only because it’s a fun album, but because Kirby is a huge ice cream enthusiast. Not only is the band loosely named after Franklin Fountain, the legendary Philadelphia ice cream spot (where Kirby was the first, and only, customer to have a running tab at), but he used to run a Sioux Falls radio show, B&G Marshmallow Malt Radio Spectacular, named after a featured dessert from a local roadside soft-serve stand.
You should check out “Morning” from the upcoming release, and then get the album when it comes out on Park the Van.
