826 has another great idea in the works. You put together a team of spellers and start raising money for the non-profit. The more money you raise, the more different ways of cheating you acquire. For instance, if you raise $750 you get to use a dictionary one time.
I don’t know if we’ll be able to get an Ice Cream Man team together, but there are plenty of other great teams out there now to donate to. The more you help them, the more they can help themselves.
The contest takes place August 14 at Lincoln Middle School in Santa Monica and it’s already got the likes of Spike Jonze and John Krasinski spelling.
