We headed back to Ashland for the Seventh Annual Free Ice Cream Social a couple weeks ago and Jay and Sue snapped some pics for a review. The trip to town was one of my favorites yet because we ended it with hikes in the Siskyou Mountains.
It’s hard to belief this was the seventh time we hosted the ice cream social. Shields from Locals Guide has been the driving force that keeps it going and all we pretty much need to do is show up with a ton of cream and let kids eat as much as they want for two hours. Our friend Greg, who let us crash at his house, recently purchased a new ice cream truck so he joined in and helped sling in his truck so we could keep the line moving quick.
Ashland will always hold a special place in my heart and it’s great to see so many familiar faces in town as well as to grub at some of my favorite restaurants like Wiley’s World and Bread Board. The super yummy local brewery Caldera also pitched in some of their IPA for a post social BBQ which was the perfect way to end the night.
I wasn’t able to make it by Today’s Dentistry to get my teeth looked at but Dan, the dentist there, brought out a bunch of toothbrushes to give away to all the kids who were slurping down the sugar. I wish we were able to have toothbrushes on board all the time, it makes so much sense to me
