Before I left for summer tour I received a pair of Earlove earplugs to check out while I was rocking out at festivals. They made it to our mailbox but I wasn’t able to retrieve them until I returned from tour just over a month ago. I’ve been in need of a quality pair of earplugs for a long time but I was never willing to pay that much money for them. I resorted to foam plugs and cotton balls, both which have their flaws.
I went to see Jon Spencer Blues Explosion at The Troubadour and I brought along my Earloves to test them out. I ended up using them earlier than I planned because I was front and center for the opening band Jail Weddings and it was quite loud. I was happy that the earplugs didn’t just block out all the high end like foam ones do and I was able to adjust them a little bit to let in the amount of sound I wanted without having to worry about them getting stuck deep in my ears. I had planned on using them for JSBX but the sound wasn’t too loud and I was rocking out. Hmmm… maybe I’ve already lost a bunch of my hearing from going to so many shows.
Keep a look out for Earlove plugs in music stores or you can order a pair at www.earlove.net. They make great, inexpensive gifts too.
