Public Ad Campaign Takeovers

When I first heard about PAC a couple years ago everything was vague and there were rumors it/he/they were involved in the Underbelly Project in an NYC subway station but I also heard about an ad takeover in Toronto that caught my attention.  Over 60 artists created work at specific dimensions and shipped them up to Toronto where, in one night, they were swapped out with ads in public space around the city.  Check out some more into on Toronto and a gallery here http://www.publicadcampaign.com/tosat/

During Primary Flight in Miami I finally met the main guy behind PAC and mentioned I really dug what he was up to and that I’d like to help.  For the next Street Art Takeover in Madrid they decided to get over 100 participants to submit text that would be printed on white paper then placed in bus shelters around town.  Since I don’t have much in the way of ‘art’ skills I was happy to contribute some quick text that (I hope) made it up around town.  I checked out the gallery and haven’t seen it yet, nor did i find myself on the Artists page so maybe it wasn’t compelling enough to make the cut… we’ll see.
