A few months back I got an email requesting the use of Bessie, the ice cream truck for The Rob & Big Show. I wasn’t exactly sure what the deal would be so I said “sure… why not?” It ended up they were actually interested in Ice Cream Man and what we do… even better. The plan was that Rob & Big would walk down the street and stop at the truck for a treat. Naturally it’d be free then they’d ask about what we’re up to. After some contemplation between the two of them, they’d return to the truck and ask if they could roll around and help sling some cream.
Ok, this might sound a bit staged, especially for a “reality” show but, outside of them rolling up the truck then hopping in, it was all pretty spur of the moment. Once we started driving, we weren’t even sure where we were going. “Hollywood and Highland?” Sure, there should be some folks around there. “How ’bout Melrose?” Sounds good to me. I won’t go to into detail, since we want you to actually watch the show tonight, or any of the reruns that will be showing all week. Let’s just say it should involve Elvis, Barney the Dinosaur, a very hyped up performance artist, and lots of free cream and smiling faces. Actually, I haven’t even seen it yet so there’s no telling. Let’s just hope they got my make-up right.
