Last Friday I called up my friend Patti at American Apparel told her I was in the neighborhood and wanted to know if her and her friends wanted some ice cream. I knew this particular give away might be a bit tricky because i only had so much ice cream on the truck and AA is HUGE.
She rounded up some folks and they slowly sprinkled down from upstairs. It didn’t take long for the word to spread and sure enough there were dozens of people lined up around the truck. I did a little rearranging to stash some cream for the Supergrass show later that night. Plus, it’s always fun to narrow down the choices so guys end up with big sticks.. he he
I saw my break and quickly drove the truck down the parking lot so I could return for a quick little AA tour with Patti. I know I already mentioned it was HUGE but once inside it seems even bigger. Walked around with a couple bags of cream bestowing some love and met lots of smiling faces (ie. people that already had ice cream).
We walked into one office and everyone in there was eating ice cream. I fumbled for my camera to get a quick shot. You’d be surprised how rare those shots are. Usually there’s a handful of skeptical hold out’s. Maybe it’s just because it was Friday afternoon and everyone was ready for the weekend. Or maybe it’s because everyone at AA is cool. I think the latter is more likely.
Now we just gotta work on getting AA on the regular route
