If you haven’t penciled in San Francisco for Noise Pop 2009, the final additions of Deerhunter, Les Savy Fav, along with a compelling collection of films should titillate your frenzy.

Starting off the festival on February 24th, Deerhunter will perform for the festival’s opening party at Mezzanine, where there will be drink specials, live video art, custom screen-printing, and of course free ice cream courtesy of Ice Cream Man.

Following the many great acts that will perform San Francisco that week, including Mercury Prize winners Antony & The Johnsons, Ra Ra Riot, Matt Costa, Keil Keith, Flosstradamus, David Dondero, Colossal Yes, Mike Relm, veterans of last year The Morning Benders, Built For The Sea, The Hooks, and The Dead Trees, there will be a triumphant and colorful closing to the festival with a performance from Les Savy Fav on the evening of March 1st.

Additional films to be featured include: the new Wilco documentary “Ashes of American Flags”, “Gogol Bordello Non-Stop: A Gypsy-Punk Documentary”, “I Need That Record: The Death (Or Possible Survival) Of The Independent Record Store”, “Largo”, and many more additions.

Ice Cream Man was there last year to document the non-stop action of Noise Pop 2008, to check out the rad offerings a ticket to this festival provides.

A week to salute indie culture in San Francisco. Amen.
