For the most part, no matter how good your sophomore album is, if you had a hit with your first there are going to be a line of haters waiting to bash it so they can prove something… althought no one ever really know what that something is. It’s happened with Tapes n’ Tapes (nice follow up guys.. “Le Ruse” should be up here someday) and there’s countless others. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! is a band that had huge buzz from their debut album then a mild, unwarranted backlash when Some Loud Thunder came out in 2007. There are many great songs on the album, and a hand full of strange ones (“Satan Said Dance”) but the one i find on repeat most often is “Underwater (You and Me)” It’s a song that holds a groove the whole way through and makes me want to either nod my head in agreement or get down. Rumor on the streets last year was that Alec from CYHSY was working with Quentin from Mazarin on an album but nothing has surfaced yet. Damn… I’m gonna rock some CYHSY and Mazarin on my way up to Frisco.
