I don’t know when I first heard The Magic Numbers, but I do know that they were a band that I instantly thought, “Man, how have I never heard these guys before?” They’re pretty straightforward indie-brit-pop, but they have a melancholy sentiment behind their songs. Many are about lost love and heartbreak but set to upbeat music, somehow working to make you happier if you’re down.
I was listening to them a lot this weekend and had a hard time choosing a song to pick, so went with “Long Legs” – one of the poppiest ones from their self titled debut album. Enjoy.
