It was tempting to pick a triumphant type song today because we finished Off the Wookie last night but this song is much more in line with how I feel right now, 9:30 AM on a Tuesday with a couple cups of coffee in me.
I’ve been a fan of Pink Floyd since finding a Delicate Sounds of Thunder cassette in junior high. It took a while for their whole catalog to grow on me and as I started to listen to more in college, I went on the hunt for bootleg albums. I’ve tracked down some CDs and LPs over the years and there are two favorites. One of them is a two disc set of their recordings at the BBC. (The other you should keep an eye out for is the two album set recorded live in SF for a radio broadcast, Insterstellar Encore).
I really don’t know much about “Green is the Color” but I like it because it’s a simple poppy type song and most people, when they think of Floyd, only think of psych stuff. Hopefully it’ll make your Tuesday a little better. If not.. .maybe you should try snaggin’ the whole sessions and giving them a spin.
