Ive been enamored with Lonely Islands Incredibad since first listen. Its become the soundtrack for my 45 minute morning commute from Culver City to Downtown. For anyone that doesnt have the internet or a television, Lonely Island are the SNL dudes (Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, Jorma Taccone) who have been making comedy skits together since junior high.
I had been toying with the idea of making one of my favorite songs off the album an ICM Song of the Day, but when the man, Santana himself, appeared on the American Idol finale last night (never underestimate the power of middle America), I knew it was fated.
Santana DVX is one of the all-time greatest booze tribute songs, of which there are surprisingly many. Most have filtered into the public eye through brainy rap lyrics and this is no exception. The resurrection of Vallejos most notable 90s rap icon, E-40 , appearing on the track as Carlos Santana only adds to the hilarity of the situation.
I was at first a little put off when I learned that Santana DVX is actually a real product, but then the reality of it sank in and it seemed much more funny. Then I ordered a bottle online in the hopes that Ill forget how to growl.
