LungA 2009 art & music festival has officially started. Set in the seaside town of Seyðisfjörður in the east of Iceland the festival kicked of last Monday and will run until July 19th. The festival started out as a music festival in 1998 but only lasting two years in that format and in 2000 the festival was changed with more effort put into widening the idea and focused on working with young people at the ages between 16 and 25 years old. Today LungA is first and foremost a festival with the purpose of summoning people in creation and to strengthen awareness and knowledge about art and culture. LungA is a terrific venue for those who are thinking of further art studying or teaching at art schools.
