Fruit Bats are one of those bands I’ve known about for a while and listened to a li’l bit but never got that into. Hmm.. that doesn’t make them sound like something you should check out. Maybe I should say that I was always curious about the band and they interested me but they always seemed to be a li’l too quirky for me. best put… it’s not them… it’s me. I just wasn’t prepared for the commitment.
Anywho, Fruit Bats have a new album coming out August 4th called The Ruminant Band and Knife and I have spun it a few times on the road and think you should too. If you’re a fan of The Shins or other upbeat, fun, and quirky Sub Pop bands, you should check it out.
Since we’ve got two tracks we can dish to ya, I’ll let you can check them both out. I’ll go with the title track for the song of the day but it doesn’t mean I like “My Unusual Friend” any less
