The city of Tucson, AZ will host an ice cream social that you can dog-ear in your calendars. On Saturday, May 8th, the Humane Society of Southern Arizona will offer ice cream for kids and canines alike. Containing very little lactose, the frozen snack will be made mostly from bananas and yogurt. Children will also create dog-friendly toppings including crushed dog bones, vegetables, and kibble.
In addition to door prizes and contests, one of the many other activities will involve a game of musical chairs, entailing that dogs sit when the music stops.
General admission to this puppy fest is $7, while members of HSSA’s Hand-In-Paws Kids Club will be admitted for $5.00. Taking place at the Companions for Life Center (located at 3465 E. Kleindale Rd.), between 2pm and 4pm, patrons are welcome to bring pups that are over four months of age, are well socialized, spayed/neutered, have current vaccinations and a Pima County license. However, dogs must also be appropriately leashed and under the control of their guardians at all times.
To get on board, you will need to sign up by May 5th through the Humane Society website or call (520) 321-3704, Ext. 142.
