Welcome! From 2004 through 2011 Ice Cream Man traveled the US giving away free ice cream (we actually traveled the world and gave away ice cream in 8 contries but 99% of it was in the US.). To date we’ve gifted over 450,000 free treats, hopefully you were fortunate enough to have crossed our path at some time.
Currently Ice Cream Man is mostly in hibernation. Matt Allen, the founder, lives in Portland, Oregon these days and he rallies the ice cream crew and Beauregard (his Dodge Sprinter ice cream truck) to hit a few local festivals like Pickathon and Musicfest NW.
A few years back an ice cream crew member purchased Bessie, our classic truck. If you’re interested in renting a truck for your event, tv, film or marketing shoot, please email matt@icecreamman.com. We have multiple trucks available throughout the West.
From 2009-2001 we filmed over 50 episodes of Road Trippin’ with Ice Cream Man. You can watch most of the episodes at www.youtube.com/icecreamman. Some of the artists that performed songs for us were Band of Horses, Broken Social Scene, Man Man, Charles Bradley, Fruit Bats, The Gories, Jay Reatard and Avi Buffalo.
