CMJ Music Marathon, the Autumn equivalent to SXSW takes place every October in New York City. It began in 1980 as a showcase for college radio music and has continued to showcase the best in new indie music ever since. The “CMJ” in the name refers to College Music Journal, the venerable NYC based magazine that helped usher in some huge acts.
We’ve managed to book it out to NY during CMJ with Bessita a couple times. It’s great fun, but it’s usually pretty cold there making it tough for ice cream, but not impossible!
